Bob Leid, owner and managing general partner of The Camp team has been in the insurance business for 40 years. Mr. Leid was a teacher and high school wrestling coach prior to entering into the insurance business. Having a background in education and athletics inspired Mr. Leid to create an avenue for coaches to obtain athletic insurance for their camps, clinics and leagues. In 1996 Bob Leid and John Stevens were introduced and formed an entity that specialized in athletic insurance.
The Camp team was formed and has grown into one of the finest sports insurance agencies in the country. The Camp team specializes in all areas of sports insurance, camps, leagues, facilities, associations, events, property, equipment, and workers compensation. John Stevens started with Bob Leid in 1996, they not only started the sports insurance agency but were involved with a sports management agency that represented professional athletes in the National Football League and the Canadian Football League. Stevens, a managing general partner is a Colorado native who attended Garden City Community College, Kansas University and Regis University, he competed as a collegiate baseball player and has coached high school baseball for 20 years. Stevens, married with three children resides in Westminster, Colorado. Leid, also a Colorado native attended Trinidad State College and the University of Northern Colorado where he competed in football and wrestling. Leid is married with 2 children and 4 grandchildren. He resides in Arvada, Colorado and enjoys golfing and traveling in his spare time.
The Camp team is also blessed to have two other key staff members, Ryan Ferrin and Meg Schwiesow. Ferrin, the Director of Operations, attended Chapman University and Colorado State University where he competed as a lacrosse player. Ferrin, resides in Golden, Colorado with his wife and two sons, he also still plays and coaches lacrosse and enjoys competing in running and triathlon events. Meg Schwiesow, Director of Collegiate Athletics/Accounting attended Denver University. Recently married resides in Wheat Ridge, Colorado where she is the head varsity volleyball coach. She also coaches summer club basketball and enjoys all recreational sports in her free time. The Camp team’s mission is simple, provide an affordable comprehensive athletic insurance product, provide excellent customer service, and allow our valued clients the opportunity to do what they do best, coach and teach the youth of America.
